Best Tactic Mega-thread: How do you sell Livalo with generics in the way?

You don't... Sad sales numbers, label change denied and CRESTOR® going generic this June. That means 6 out of 7 statins are generic, while LIVALO® has terrible managed care coverage, no end point studies and comparable efficacy to atorvastatin 5/10mg!

"Not all that bad" isn't the most ringing endorsement. I've been trying to break into pharma / device Sales. Is this the position to do it with?

If you're trying to "break in" to an industry any job in said industry is a good job. Or you could hold out and wait for that $200k device job to drop in your lap

Yes, this is the company to beak into the industry with. You can create relationships with doctor's offices, and other Pharm reps. You can learn the office protocols in your territory, and how to detail docs. You can learn about managed care, and how to create a good routing plan. You can learn a lot about the industry in this position, and the leaders in this company are rather patient in giving you time to learn. And later on down the road, once you have some experience under your belt, perhaps you can move on to a bigger pharm company -if you wish, but you could certainly do a lot worse than Kowa.

Are you an employee? Or just really sold on the idea. Or both.

I have been a Rep with the company for 2.5 years. There is good and bad -as is the case with any company, but from my experience, the good has far out weighed the bad, and I've learned a lot about all the things I mentioned in my previous post.

"Comparable". As in, not any better than the lowest two doses of the generic equivalent, which was once the most widely prescribed pharmaceutical drug in US history....? Put the catering over there. It better be what we ordered and you be NOT have forgotten desert this time....!
