I was part of the 2010 SFR. I opted out...due to the fact that I didn't see a future for myself long term, and frankly, getting dropped back in to field sales after the TAP dissolution was not something I could adapt to. I don't regret it. Every week I run into someone from another pharma company who has or is going through this. My thoughts are with you guys..no BS.
Advice if you want it....try to seek employment out of pharma..there's simply too much volatility. And, also, Home Office will continue to make the same mistakes as long as they keep the same folks in decision making role. I spent 8 years floating to and from the Home Office...there's folks in upper management role who I wouldn't hire to run a hot dog stand.
Someone had a thread earlier about how, once he was let go in 2010, no one from Takeda ever called/communicated in any way to check up..as a friend would do. Very sad but very true. No one ever reached out to me (from senior management) either. The reality is what you all are seeing...folks up there are always going to look out for number 1. The last folks to be cut will be the Home Office managers. The good ol boy network continues. I"m the CEO of my own company now, and I learned as much what NOT to do as a leader as I did what TO do. I guess I'm thankful for that.
Press on, be strong, have faith (not that corporate jingle garbage) and remember...success is the best revenge.
