Best advise for Ista reps who want to remain employed

Know your B&L reps you overlap. If you don't, call them all STAT. I guarantee they will ask the senior rep in that area what their opinion is on them. We will probably keep one out of two that have one state for example. Hopefully u haven't ticked us off and threatened anyone of us who r using diclofenac to leverage post op accounts. If so you are a gonner. Go business card hunting. Good luck!

KNOW who the senior rep is. Longevity FIRST as long as they are performers. Call them..ask them. If you only know one of us your perception WILL be skewed. Promise.

Please Casanova.... I don't need to ask my B& L rep shit! I don't care what their recommendation is of me! I'd rather be laid off with severance and collect unemployment and never work for your pos company or in this industry ever again!

Good Bye and Good Luck! I heard they were only looking for winners anyway! See ya!

Seems to be the best advise for ISTA reps who want to remain employed is to keep doing what they are doing. From an outsider looking in, with a smidge (lol) of corporate merger experience....ISTA has taken a no-name, no-drug company and in less than 10 years is kicking the As' asses. On the other hand, most of the doctors, and I'm speaking those that perform sx, not OD's, that *even* remember their B & L's reps name, aren't impressed by them. It's great that the B & L product line sells itself, because the opinion of the people who buy your product is that the sales force is mediocre, and that's being overly generous. Don't know why B & L bought ISTA for $500M with two products? Seems like their sales team may be stronger than yours, considering their current market share with their *measley* two products. Seems like the better statement may be: "The best advice for a B & L rep who wants to remain employed....." mediocrity doesn't sell, ISTA does.

Do you realize the Ista reps who put the company where it is at are almost all gone? In the last 2 years Ista has churned through a +75% turnover. The new reps are totally different from the older reps. Little/no experience and fairly young. You will do no better with them.

sounds just like B&L.
almost 100% attrition. Most all of the real talent, years of experience and relationships are long gone. now you have reps that have worked for 5 different companies, contract forces, primary care. Total joke.

Heard a newbie B&L rep in an office a few months ago ask the doctor a really great open ending productive question that sounded like it came right out of HQ.

So tell me doctor what types of patients do you prescribe allergy drops to.
The doctor looked at me since I was one of his ex B&L reps as if to say (are you kidding) and then turned to the rep, "Allergy Patients". Doctor patted him on the shoulder and said "come back and see me when you know something about ophthalmology." we walked into his office and laughed our a$$es off.
was awesome.
best of luck B+L+ISTA - SKILL = losers

Rumor has it Ista reps will be kept on only to let go of B&L reps at a later date. Why not? Ista has produced we haven't done shit with our portfolio. Who gets kept in upper management will tell the story. W- P has had it with the stagnant numbers. Here's your warning. Don't be surprised when Ista takes over the pharma business. They have a proven track record. We don't.

I suspect the ISTA reps that are saying they will be taking the place of their B+L rep is just like the B+L rep that is saying that the ISTA reps are going to be let go.....

Not only does either rep know what's going to happen on the integration, but likely they haven't worked with their ISTA or B+L rep in their territory to share notes, or help each other out in accounts where it would've benefited them to work together or one of them burned bridges with the other and so it's time to lash out at the other side.

Pity.

We both want to take down Allergan and Alcon. Seems we could at least start with that common ground and go from there.

That's hilarious

I have worked closely with my BL rep for years now. I even got her into one of the largest surgical accounts in the country. Now with that being said I fully expect to get laid off and to not take her or her coworker's spot. To the victors go the spoils. Unless they create some new position in the area I do not expect to be working for BL.

To the victors go the spoils? B&L reps are useless and lazy ... So i hope its rotten meat. Signed a soon to be ex Ista rep who tore your B&L reps ass off in my territory because i W-0-R-K-E-D ... Remember that concept ?

Just because your rep was lazy doesn't mean we all are. Use the grey matter btw your ears you arrogant prick.
