Besivance ..B&L /FSC Labs co-promote?

What's the story here? I see Besivance being sampled by FSC Labs reps, but looks like it's made by B&L?

Is this a co-promote agreement or is FSC Labs doing ALL of the promoting? Looks like a decent product.

Dude...Besivance is an unneeded me-too eye drop on the market. It's not as cost effective as GENERIC Pred Forte. It's efficacy is not as strong as Durezol. It was meant to be a post-op treatment for cataract...but arrived to the party 3 years too late and was thus off-label to promote it for this condition. Early reps that had Besivance were subject to a horrible commission structure where B+L initially wanted just 20 Rxs in each territory...then when that didn't happen, they made Besivance part of each rep's quota system. When reps couldn't get traction on Besivance they were put on a performance improvement plan and ultimately fired. Fast forward a few years and B+L is not in much better shape with this product. It was a fumble out the door and remains a sore spot. Besivance sucks. Plain and simple.

half of what you said makes no sense. sounds like you were talking about lotemax and not besivance. Besivance is an antibiotic. Lotemax is a steroid.

yes besivance sucks as a post op drop but because it is a gooey drop and formulary sucks.

lotemax also sucks as a post op drop for the reasons you cited.

mostly the reason lotemax doesn't have efficacy is because it settles out of solution and has to be shaken vigorously before each use and patients don't do it.

You obviously have besivance confused with lotemax; besivance isn't even the same class drug as durezol and gen pred forte

I have no problem selling besi...and formulary it's not great but it's pretty on par with zymaxid and vig once you consider the coupon.....so quit yer crying

you don't sell besi. you beg for scripts. you don't have any sort of serious post op volume. besi is a joke and has no real market share compared to the branded comp and generics.

they cant sell besi because the only indication is bact conjunct. so you can't even talk about about any of the reasons it might be good post op. most any well respected surgeon would never use besi post op. a few of the lower level shills B&L used to pay or still do, still use it. None of the top guys do. Alcon and allergan dominate post op business with the top docs and that's where 90% of the business is. B&L has no access. In RX branded ophthalmics B&L is a small fish in a small pond.

And before any of you start saying how your docs use it post op. stop it.
I guarantee if there is a doc Rxing over 100 scripts a month, they are mostly alcon or allergan with besi a distant third. and I doubt there is even 1 doc in the country Rxing more than 100 besi per month. But there are tons of docs Rxing more than 100 alcon or allergan each month. end of story. they have the top docs locked up. get it.

and for any of you saying my top docs use lotemax. in the words of obama... you didn't build that. the reps that came before you got that post op business.
