Why do I feel like I have to pretend not to be conservative leaning at Lilly? Without saying if I am field or corporate I just feel that I will get shamed for not being openly progressive in the current environment. So much left leaning policy is being forced down our throats right now. Seems we have no say in the matter.

Would love to know the actual political breakdown of Lilly. Are >50% conservative and just going along with the woke agenda to not get passed over with opportunities?

Why do you feel a need to let people know? Separate your personal beliefs from the workplace. Yes, you need to support corporate initiatives, like diversity; but no one is requiring you to ride on the pride float, for example. Put the stupid pronouns in your bio if that’s what corporate wants. Then go out and vote for the candidates you prefer. The company is going to take positions to the advantage of the company. Don’t lose sleep over it. The closest I’ve come to wanting to say something is when Lilly let executive Weems go all F the police and defund the police. If he even lives in Marion County, he’s probably in Washington Township not worrying about shootings.
Diversity of thought and opinion is clearly not included if the definition of diversity used by the current Lilly leadership which is too bad. That is the only part of diversity that studies have associated with improved company performance.
Just be who you are and if you feel marginalized call a lawyer. Maybe conservatives can win back some freedom if they start playing the game.
There is no room for Lefties at Lilly,s except at the very top of the company. Unfortunate isn’t it?

Lilly employees have leaned left a long long time. The Lilly PAC would have employee forums and split donations based on how attendees voted—sometimes democrats would win the majority but were in the 40% if not. Lechlieter even raised money for Mitch Daniels opponent, Joe Kernan. I knew someone who was conservative, but who was going to have to attend a fundraiser he was holding for Lilly management for Kernan. It was canceled at the last minute when Kernan crapped on Daniels for having worked at Lilly.
Openly LGBTQ people have been in Lilly management for decades as well, which is a good thing.
Bring back the good ol days when people in Lilly were conservative and not WOKIES. This is when Lilly’s was moo in and grooving and Ceclor, Axid Cymbalta, Moxam, Keflex and yes Prozac, we’re the cat’s meow. Lilly’s was incredible with Awesome management and CEO,s in those days. Now it’s all about wokeness. How things have changed for the Left.

Some people embrace their golden years, while others become bitter and surly. Life is too short to waste your days on the latter. Spend your time with positive, cheerful people, it'll rub off on you and your days will seem that much better. Spending your time with bitter people will make you feel older and harder to be around.
Do not surrender to the temptation of living with your children or grandchildren (if you have a financial choice, that is). Sure, being surrounded by family sounds great, but we all need our privacy. They need theirs and you need yours. Even then, do so only if you feel you really need the help or do not want to live by yourself
Don't abandon your hobbies. If you don't have any, make new ones. You can travel, hike, cook, read, dance. You can adopt a cat or a dog, grow a kitchen garden, play cards, checkers, chess, dominoes, golf.
Try to go. Get out of the house, meet people you haven't seen in a while, experience something new (or something old). The important thing is to leave the house from time to time. Go to museums, go walk through a park. Get out there.
Speak in courteous tones and try not to complain or criticize too much unless you really need to. Try to accept situations as they are.
Pains and discomfort go hand in hand with getting older. Try not to dwell on them but accept them as a part of life.
If you've been offended by someone – forgive them. If you've offended someone-apologize. Don't drag around resentment with you. It only serves to make you sad and bitter. It doesn't matter who was right. Someone once said: "Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die." Don't take that poison. Forgive, forget, and move on with your life.
Laugh. Laugh away your worries Remember, you are one of the lucky ones. You managed to have a life, a long one. Many never get to this age, never get to experience a full life.
