Beacon absolutely sucks! Who was in charge of this crappy whatever it is? No meaningful use. Ordering is a joke. Pick lists...please. It's an embarrassment for sure. UHC has no loyalty to LC as their providers have made it perfectly clear. Way to go LabCrap.

Beacon would be fine if it was 1999. But today? It's a joke and all clients do is complain and it is always down because of the server. I tell clients paper reqs are better than this and juat use beacon for results only. Save yourself alot of headaches

Beacon LBS is a requirement for test pre authorization for UHC clients 10/1 in Florida. Calls are going out now from beacon reps. Anger is off the charts. All non UHC work will be directed away from us to Quest. Huge blunder. Have a field day Quest. We deserve it for this idiocy.

Extra work for our clients. Less tests being Ordered. What a great idea.
 












Beacon LBS is without a doubt the worst idea ever. They are requiring that you provide a 'unique' test code for each test you perform in your lab. Apparently CPT codes (the standard) are not good enough. Anyone foolish enough to follow their recommendations that you provide this code with your billing information needs to brace themselves for denials from anyone else that these codes are sent to.
They are creating a new, more complex layer to the ordering and billing functions for providers trying to take care of patients.
I'm hearing that some of the larger physician groups in Florida have decided not to contract with UHC because of this. Outstanding !
It's time we took control of our patients back from the insurance companies before they run the American Healtcare System into the ground !
 






BeaconLBS, starts May 1st. No wait, starts September 1st. Oh wait, we mean October 1st. Actually, make that January 1st. HA! I hear the distinct sound of toilets flushing. Captain, we're taking on water!
