BD Surgical Specialties

Hi all. Currently interviewing for BD surgical specialties in major metro area. Here’s the thing… I feel like I am over qualified because of my many years in various sales jobs including medical. However, I have light surgical. A year and a half 1099 in OR urology, and surgical device is where I want to be long term. I’m thinking that this may be my best best to get surgical on my resume although I may be too old and the comp may be lesser than what I’m looking for. The manager made it very clear he wants me but is skeptical it’s what I want due to both these factors. Thoughts?

If you have many years in medical device not sure why you are looking here? BD has significantly scaled back pay and transitioned to hiring young reps with little to no experience.

my experience isn’t surgical and companies like to be sticklers about that when interviewing for the bigger, niche, large paying surgical positions. That’s why I was wondering if I should do BD for a few years to bulk up my OR experience. Ugh playing the game sucks doesn’t it
