I saw this on another company board and I thought I would start it here. They were claiming that women were severely underpaid than men with similar years of service etc. It would be interesting to see if this is really true. Share the info in the order mentioned in the title. I will start..

Yeah, I understand Pittsburgh is under some big time heat.

Too many dead wood reps making way too much money that will never make a difference in that managed care situation.

Reps and managed care here need to be aaaaxxxxed.

S2 be careful. You make way toooooo muuuuuch in salary to deliver lunch and chase signatures. UPS guys make $60k and work way harder than you.

You probably live in Pittsburgh.

UPS guys don't have to have intelligent, persuasive discussions regarding disease states and products with their customers. UPS guys don't have "ride-alongs", "competencies" and "PMP's". UPS guys don't have evening work (i.e., testing, expense reports, business plans and other nonsense that robs you of your personal life). UPS guys may physically work hard, but they can mentally tune out and leave their job at the doorstep when they arrive home. If delivering lunch and chasing signatures were the only requirements in pharma sales, pharma companies would hire those UPS guys, duh! You are WAY oversimplifying pharma sales. Do we get to have face time with 8-10 docs everyday? No, of course not. But whenever we do, we better have a hell of a lot more to offer than what a UPS guy would.
