Background check???

Just finished the TEVA application and background check consent. They ask me to list 3 professional references including one from a manager. The problem is I am presently employed and the past company's DM is there no more. Will they really call my manager if I listed it? I listed 2 other co-worker references as professional references so that's not a problem Im just worried about Teva calling my existing DM since I am still employed.

Anyone else run into this?

TEVA will NOT contact your current manager until they make an offer to you. If at that time TEVA believes there is a problem, you will be asked to explain any concerns.
A tip for the future: When asked to give information about your manager, or supervisor, try listing the name and phone of a close friend in your current company. (District or Region). When he or she is contacted, you'll "sail" through the hiring process! I've done this twice over my career.
