Background check company?

Can someone tell me what comapny Publicis uses for background checks. I was just offered a position with them and reeceived a call from a company called "Hire Right" about my background but when I call they said they had no recrod of me! Thanks for your help.

Verifications Incorporated....contacted me by email. Publicis sent a link to info that I needed to complete. Did receive one call for something that was missing from the link, but it was VI

Do you have the job in the bag if they ask you to do background check? Seems like a waste of time and money if you are not hired ???

I was told if you get the hiring packet (when you also move to background check) you are hired.

A background check means nothing. Until you get a formal written offer and the first paycheck is in the bank, you can't count on anything from this company.

I was wondering that as well. I haven't even interviewed yet (have 1 scheduled this week) yet I had to fill out all the info with VI for the background check. Why would they do this if you had not even interviewed yet? Do they just keep it until they need it?

I don't know how they get away requesting date of birth prior to candidate being extended and accepting an offer. It is illegal to request a candidate"s age and one is not required to provide this information.

I referred someone. He got written offer. Contingent of passing background check. He did not get the job. and i never found out why. he wouldnt tell me amd neither would the company

If you are truthful on your resume,they can tell your age that way. If you are showing 15 yrs. of working experience and you probably graduated college at 22,that makes you at least 37. Or,maybe older if you did not graduate at 22 y.o. Think about it.
