Hi,
I am currently employed. I did get written offer here. I have an excellent background with references, awards, good driving, credit, etc. My question is this: I was "let go' suddenly from previous job. No performance or conduct issues. It was a small medical sales company. They asked me to do something "illegal" i.e. Medicare fraud... to explain, they asked one of my docs, a "medical director" to sign patient med changes and he had never seen the patients or been briefed in a case managment conference. It is illegal to sign these documents for changes in pain meds for patients he has never seen. The medical director who could legally sign was on vacation. I told my doc I did not believe in this and that my "company" was requesting but I was not. There was a text to this affect on my company Iphone. To move along, I was "let go" with no explanation the next day. The doc was furious they asked him to do an illegal act. They were going to let a rep go anyway b/c they are losing money here and they needed a reason to "let me go" they then lied and told unemployment that I was fired for misconduct (turning off GPS) but of course, I was never warned, never signed a document for being 'fired" and unemployment gave me benefits immediately. My question: if they would lie and tell unemployment I was "fired for misconduct" what would they tell Hire Right? They have no proof. I was given zero warning. they did threaten us all for months and what is weird is I was new, so I didn'thave time to "underperform>" In the section where it says "have you ever been discharged" I did mention that I was "let go" for business reasons.. (that is actually what I was told) but of course they tell unemployment a different story. I guess they don't want to pay?? I know what you will say... HR knows who you are now! Good.. then they can see my explanation. I Just wonder what they ask former employers. and how would you handle this? I never imagined they would lie to Unemployment, especially as a single Dad that is widowed... (and yes they knew) that is just wrong. I just hope by being truthful on applications I am fine. I honestly don't know how I would be "lying" if I didn't answer the section about "being discharged" because they really gave me no reason. they did close my territory and have not rehired- thanks and really thanks for non-judgemental answers
