AWM - what's up with SLC...?

So the company has an 'auto qualifier' which they (Healthpoint) have had for years. This year they quietly put in the requirements that your division needs to be at target for anyone to auto qualify...so why have one? So you as a rep hit target and increase sales as they asked and technically you auto qualify...but your division misses target and you don't win SLC...

Where did you see that? What I'm looking at says, <90% of team number at the President's discretion, but not to exceed 5% of reps.

92% - 6% of reps
94% - 7%
96% - 8%
98% - 9%

And so on...

Previous years if you hit the 'auto-qualifier' you won SLC regardless of your ranking. That aside the company would always take a % based off the national performance as well.

With your sales you are lucky to still have a job, let alone campaigning for a trip to Mexico. Move on to 2016 and sell something

The problem Kevin, is that this is generally the exception not the rule in our industry. If we want to be great, not only do we have to have great products (some), but we have to have good support (we don't), good pay plans ( nonexistent, and even capped commissions in some instances), and competitive benefits (nowhere to be found). When we replaced 1/3 of our Salesforce last year...and will inevitably do the same this year how do we expect to hit a divisional goal? Besides just the setback for each territory and region, consider the hard cost of hiring and training a new employee. I know this doesn't concern you as much as the turnover helps you hit (and get paid) on the P&L statement, but if we're serious about hitting our number this can't happen once...let alone multiple years in a row. Great companies don't lose 30%+ of their people in a year. Don't see that happening at Boston Sci, 3M, BD, Medtronic, etc.

It is located on your report that says auto-qualify only occurs if the nation is at 100%. They set goals that are significantly unattainable to the nation, so the nation gets its goal reduced but the rep goals are not reduced. How will they justify not taking sales people who over-sold enough to "auto-qualify" for SLC? Decisions like this will continue to cause people to leave, not that I think FF cares at all of the retention problem he has created.

True. But let's be honest. People don't leave because they don't go on a trip with Kevin McCann. They leave because they're not getting paid, and shitty top leadership. Guess that's why everyone has left over the past 15 months
