Awful interview process

My two cents - for what it's worth. As interested as I am in the Client Company I'm interviewing for I am extremely turned off with the organization of the Publicis interview process.

-Registration link comes through with dates that have passed. Days before anyone gets back me with the correct link.
-Registration link comes through on a Saturday with no information regarding where the interview is taking place (yet you still need to pick a time before moving forward with the registration and there are only two times available) The manager on the phone screen mentioned the location but he said maybe in "X" location but not sure. How do I know whether to chose driving, flying or need a hotel if I really don't know where the interview is???
-Expense reimbursement sent another way but listing a different client company - not the one I was interviewing for
-Asking for W9 social security number just for the interview - no one gets that unless I'm offered a position (really?)
-Going to the interview to sit around in a holding bin with your competition (awkward)

I came so close to saying never mind and not going to the interview at all.

We don't need you

Process was not bad but overload on paperwork. Don't get that since with other jobs its easier. The downside here is money, the money, yeah I said, the money. The upside is employees. Bosses are decent blokes. People who work here seem to have been put through the grinder of life and know the score.

Real mature response. I would think your client would like to know how disorganized the process is and the impression it is making on good candidates. Can't handle a little honest criticism.

I too went through a similar situation as the above poster. The two links came through with expired dates and when I finally got one that made sense it was with one day notice to travel across country. I was lucky that I could make it but some people can't drop everything at the last minute to be away for two or three days. I too agree that being asked to provide the W9 information just for an interview is odd.

You will give us the info we request when we request it or you will be screened and put on the DNR list. We hold all the cards. Tons of unemployed pharma reps dying to work for anything. Adjust your attitude or get lost. That is your reality. This is NOT 1997. The ball is fully in our court now.

-Your PSS Recruiter

P.S... As your PSS recruiter, we'll need your SS number upfront as well as a copy of your college degree as we didn't acquire such a status in possessing a bachelors degree. You won't be needing it after we're through with you and your reputation, so we'll need to go ahead and have that revoked and reinstated in our own names; which are on the PSS recruiter side of course. Please see our email attachment that includes the forms needed for this process. Please be thorough and complete as WE want to ensure that your entire transcript of college credit is transferred away from you and given to HR and or our recruiting team. Be sure to also include any masters credit as well. A little fraud never hurt anyone, at least no one of importance.

-Thanks!

Hey dummy, we recruiters here own you. If you were not so incredibly desperate for a job you would not be applying here. We know that and so should you. You get interviews if and when we choose to put you or one of the other few dozen forward. We have stable jobs. You don't have anything.

Most of the open positions are being filled with direct referrals.

PSS recruiters are rarely used.

Immature response?

Aren't you the one who chose to air your complaint on cafepharma rather than going directly to your recruiter with your "honest criticism"?

The truth is we DON'T need you. We have tons of qualified candidates to fill these positions. Be grateful you have a position and stop your whining. You drug reps are all alike

Alike only in ......we want to be able to keep the roof and walls paid for. Oh, yea and be upwardly mobile, maybe save a dime . The job is a start out your career salary at most. Not a career move. Not a place where you can save anything. It's a holding zone till the real thing comes along.

I agree with you.

But still be grateful for what you have.

After you give them your social security number and all your personal information; be sure to watch your credit! During my interview process, someone from Publicis took my social security number and personal info. and applied for a Discover Visa card!!! It took me months of work to straighten it out.

Had an interview and then a few hours later received an email to "apply". Does that mean an offer is coming? This is a very odd process. Really on the fence if I would accept anyway. It seems likea lot of eexpectations for a flex position. Please, honest feedback on is appreciated.

They send everyone who gets a face tp face the application to fill out. It means nothing. Your greatest concern would be why do you want to work here? This place is a dysfunctional dump. Every rep that I know here hates PSS and wants out ASAP. They will pay you for part time and expect full time hours and work. Don't say you were not warned.
