Atlanta Aesthetic position

Okay I almost hate to ask the question on this board as so many posts are just negative. However, I want some inside scoop and real information on this job before I enter the interview process.
I am in device sales and have done very very well in my career working for a top 5 device company. I've been approached for a position in Atlanta and think this is a good opportunity for a new career path doing something FUN again.
I am in surgical devices and getting into 7:30 am surgery cases every day is getting old. I'm ready to be back in a suit again and doing something that is FUN yet challenging. Aethetic sales has always been an interest.
I see a lot of layoff's happened after the merger. I'm sure people left that didn't want to be part of a big company. I've been through several mergers being bought and being on the "buyers" end so I get it.
So anyone that works here have some insight? Has the dust settled? Are things moving forward with a positive group of sales people now? How are you guys doing competing in the market? Great products, now a bigger company behind them seems like it could be a good thing.
Insight into what the managers and company are doing, how is the attitude of the reps and mangers now, what's the new direction if there is one?
If you are working here now are you staying or finding your way out once you get another job?
If you can offer insight it's appreciated. I know I'll hear the negative which is good. My question is if you had it to do over again would you take this job? Would you recommend working here to a friend?

Seriously, you must be a dumb #$%^&%$ to even consider working for these jerk-offs. You would be better off if you took off all your clothes, strolled into your closed prison, and demanded to be pounded in your brownie until you couldn't see straight. Seriously, you would be 1,0000,000 times better off than working for Mikie! Flee, idiot!

RUN as far as you can from this company-this job is about as 'fun' as being thrown into a pack of extremely hungry Lions wearing underwear made out of filet mignon's...RUN and don't look back! And yes, I am a current sales rep with this company.

I am a current rep and I would tell you to wait a year. Reason being is there will be lots of turn over in the next six months because the comp plan is not well designed. Ultimately if you don't hit your number, they take it out of next quarters bonus. Normally that wouldn't be a problem because most of us have exceeded our numbers for years. But you add all the changes in, a price increase, new products which we learned in less than a week, and an entire month where some accounts didnt have a rep -- And you have a recipe for disaster. Hence, the nation is not doing well. Bosses are sending threatening emails. It's bad bad. I'm not a
pessimist though. I think things will change once turn over hits a certain level.

To the last reply thank you so much for your honesty and non pessimistic view of what is going on.

Can you tell me more about the comp plan? I was told a nice base comparable to where I am now and $20K per quarter at plan in commission.
Are the plan numbers so high they are unreachable?

If you miss your number they take it out of the next quarter's comp. What exactly does that mean.

I am in a good job with a great company. I'm just looking for something different that I can do and enjoy the product I'm selling, the environment I'm in, the team I work with, and still make a good living doing it.

I have always been interested in the aesthetic market. One of my products is used in aesthetic surgical procedures and it's the one I enjoy the most.

I was really excited about this opportunity. When I saw the recent acquisition, that made me leary as I know the immediate fall out from those can be bad.

Things always flatten out and turn around once the dust settles, I'm glad to hear you believe that will happen as well. I'm assuming that means you are sticking it out and not jumping ship to see what happens next?
