Associate Sales Rep - Endoscopy

Hi,

I am interested in the opening in Jersey. Does anyone have information on the pay for an Associate Sales Rep - Endoscopy? Is there a commision on top of the salary or is it a bonus and how much?

What is the QOL for this position and how long would it take to move to a full Sales Rep position?

Seriously? Run, don't walk, away from S&N. Over my 20 year career at several companies, it truly stands out as the most poorly run I've ever encountered. I'm looking, as is everyone I talk to.

Okay...but to break into the medical device sales arena, isn't this a good place to start as an associate?

I think just as any new job or transition, doing the grunt work is part of the learning process.

Any other thoughts on this position?

I, like I'm sure a lot of us had to start out as an associate rep. It's true you'll work hard, and you won't make a ton of cash initially, but you gotta pay your dues and crack in somehow. If you really want in, this is a great way to get a seat at the table. Just make sure you bust your ass and drive business and you'll eventually get promoted, or another company will notice you and pick you off if SN fails to.

Depends (not the diapers) on the territory. 2-3 years. I know a guy that has been a 1099 full line for 5 years but is killing it because the full reps treat him as an equal and I also know a 1099 trauma guy that got an Endo job offered after about 13 months but is hating life and not making the money he was when he was trauma and he had to move across the state for the job.

3000 a month? thats it? I guess it would be mileage payback as well and not a vehicle? Is it at least a generous alllowance? Any combat pay for it being Camden? I am afraid to risk my life for under 40K a year.

Why would anyone want this job?

Because in a couple years or less you can be promoted!! That's why. Look at how many dumbshit ASR's get promoted to full line. Yeah, your still with Smith & Nephew, but benefits are good and managers don't bother you.

Do you know what the crime rate is for the Camden territory? In a couple of years I get promoted!?! The likelihood of a physically threatening encounter during that same time frame is concerning, not to mention having to use my own vehicle. If a company car gets stolen or broken into, that's one thing....but my own car? I would really think about this one.

You have about a 1/36 chance of becoming a victim of crime. That being said, call Luke Morey, stay in your call during sales calls (required), tint your windows, and you will be fine.

Or if they give you a company car, go for it, and look for an internal move to a different city.
