Assignments Before Start Date? WTF?

Wondering if anyone else has had this experience with Publicis: You get a start date for your contract which is a Friday (weird) but you start getting emails on Sunday/Monday about big assignments that are already due on Friday. In other words, to actually complete them on time (and they are very vehement about this) you have to start them right away, or you will never be able to finish them by Friday. WTF is up with that? This happened to me last year and I can anticipate that it will happen again on and up and coming contract where the start date is again ON A FRIDAY!!

Publicis has got to be THE most disorganized company I have ever seen. They want things done yesterday, with little notice.

I think what they want (and get) is you to work for them for no pay. They already underpay, and then ask you to work without wages...as in illegal. Bet they bill the contracting company for it though.

OP here..talking about the Lipitor contract, and now the UCB one coming up is going to be the same thing, I fear..there were loads of compliance modules to complete as I remember as the first thing. Those are excruciating and looonnngggg,,

How did Publicis justify you working while you weren't getting paid??? That is crazy!

Maybe that was just a glitch for the Pfizer contract.
