The Benefit package is very fair. The ususal stuff, major med, car, 401k NO pension, but nobody does that nowadays. The 401K is vesting and by the 5th year you are 100 percent vested in terms of their contributions. Vacation is very good, a month for the first year (20 days) 24 days starting in year 2, and 26 starting in year 3. 9 paid holidays, including two at Turkey time. They do not shut-down for the whole X-mass week but with 20 days its not bad, they do close on the 25th of December. Target bonus also is pretty good compared to other pharma companies and I think we get I-Pads instead of the usual slower than slow laptops. That is all I know at the moment but the people I have spoken to who I know at the company told me I am joining at a decent time. The divisions are not over staffed, I think in the US about 700 total for all 4 or 5 of their divisions combined, including Neuroscience, Hospital, Cardio, device.
I realize pharma is shrinking all the time, but If I can stay 2-5years I will be set in terms of being able to retire in my late 50's early 60's.
Of course the biggest factor besides pipeline is the manager. Mine on the surface seems very real.. but you never know. My thoughts are if you can get on-board go for it.
Hope that helps.
