I am applying for a job here. I don't notice too many negative posts on this board--nowhere near the # on other boards. What are your thoughts on this Company? Are you for the most part happy here? Please provide me any information you are willing to share. I am interviewing with several companies and don't want to make a mistake.

Why would anyone in this industry believe that someone is interviewing with several companies. Nobody is hiring, everyone is firing. Go back and try again.

I am interviewing for a hospital position-
how well is the drug doing? Why are there positions open? What is this division like?
I have not heard of this company so that is why I am asking-the other position I am interviewing for is with a big pharma hospital division too-
why so bitter?

Its pretty simple. Go to google and type in the word Otsuka. Click on their homepage and locate the drug that is hospital related which is in their CV division. Then, if you had any exposure at all in pharma you would at least be a familiar with this company, the hospital drug, and the environment in that division. I can almost guarantee you won't be a final consideration as there are many displaced, long-term pharma reps. still looking for positions who will be able to complete this basic task.

Great advice. I am one of those laid off reps that just landed a job with you guys and I am thrilled. Got a bump in base pay, manager seems laid back, and I will work my tail off to keep this job. The benefits surprised me, very happy with the package.

The Benefit package is very fair. The ususal stuff, major med, car, 401k NO pension, but nobody does that nowadays. The 401K is vesting and by the 5th year you are 100 percent vested in terms of their contributions. Vacation is very good, a month for the first year (20 days) 24 days starting in year 2, and 26 starting in year 3. 9 paid holidays, including two at Turkey time. They do not shut-down for the whole X-mass week but with 20 days its not bad, they do close on the 25th of December. Target bonus also is pretty good compared to other pharma companies and I think we get I-Pads instead of the usual slower than slow laptops. That is all I know at the moment but the people I have spoken to who I know at the company told me I am joining at a decent time. The divisions are not over staffed, I think in the US about 700 total for all 4 or 5 of their divisions combined, including Neuroscience, Hospital, Cardio, device.

I realize pharma is shrinking all the time, but If I can stay 2-5years I will be set in terms of being able to retire in my late 50's early 60's.

Of course the biggest factor besides pipeline is the manager. Mine on the surface seems very real.. but you never know. My thoughts are if you can get on-board go for it.

Hope that helps.

Why do you lie and why does HR come on here to post? You did not get a "bump" to your base, as you had no base, you were on gov't cheese. You did not get anything, you do not work here.

Wrong you idiot... if you look on the website there were at least 15 to 20 open jobs and I was fortunate to get on. I am in 6 weeks of home study as we speak. So please take your negativity elsewhere. What you dont get is, that if you interview well, have experience in the disease state they are looking for, have references to back you up, it can happen! So go back to Mickey D's or whatever job you are working and keep staying negative. I am very happy to land this job, and my FORD Edge is great to drive along with my IPAD and soon to be I phone.

homestudy is NOT 6 weeks. Sorry

Look you idiot I am NOT going to debate you... I know what I know so if you are a bitter employee just leave and give me your location because I have plenty of friends with my old pharma company that would take your job. FYI they have totally changed up training not that I needed to tell you that but thats a fact.
