Are there any ADD meds that actually work?

Ok, I am a consumer and a nurse. I have ADD and need something that will help me focus and perhaps help with my mood and memory.

Intuniv does not work. It's garbage, I may have well have been taking skittles.

Other drugs that did nothing for me are Busbar, concerta, Strattera and Welbutrin as well as some others.

Ritalin gave me a heart attack and my cardiologist said staop taking all that shit because it is all media hype, none of it works and it causes heart attacks.

SAMe is expensive and is also worthless.

IDK about Focus Factor or St. John's Wort, et al.

Is there anything that can help me focus better, become better organized, less anxious, get better sleep, remember better, etc?

Anything at all?

BTW,, You don't have to report this. you only have 2 of the 4 criteria for an AE.

Hey, where are you a nurse at? Remind me never to go there--!

Seriously, if you had one medical bone in your body, you would have done some research and learned that Concerta and Ritalin are the same molecule, that Intuniv isn't indicated for adults, and that all stimulants are contra-indicated in patients with a history of heart disease.

So...listen to a cardiologist, and go find a better psychiatrist. You need it.

Awesome response! Love it.

Maybe you don't have ADD...My guess is a strong anxiety disorder!!

I would like to know what you were "consuming" prior to this post. Also, could I please have some?

Skittles are AWESOME!!!!!

I'm sure you have found some "other" drugs that "were" for you. If not, keep experimenting.

Ritalin gave me a heart attack and my cardiologist said staop taking all that shit because it is all media hype, none of it works and it causes heart attacks.

There are a lot of "other drugs" that could cause heart-attacks. Are you SURE you weren't taking any of the following? cocaine, meth, heroine, crack?

SAMe is expensive and is also worthless.

Good point.

IDK either

Yes, its OTC right next to the products that help you lose weight, get younger, become more sexually attractive, perform better in the bedroom, keep a full head of hair without graying, helps you fly, swim underwater for an infinite amount of time, make yourself invisible, increases your hearing/eyesight, AND with ZERO side effects.

Anything at all?

See above

Actually, your post demonstrated all 4 of the criteria for AE (Absolutely Entertaining)

1-totally stupid
2-absolute ridiculousness
3-did I mention stupid
4-made me laugh

Thanks!

I'm a new R.N. and ex-drug rep.

Generic immediate release Adderall best I've found.

I never had a hx of heart problems prior to taking Ritalin and Concerta. It was my psychiatrist that put me on them. I have since fired her.

I am actually a very good nurse.

There was also no need for insults on this thread. I was asking for help.

most people on here are here to insult everyone. So this is not te place to give your thoughts to random people regarding medical conditions. Second if you were an ex drug rep and or nurse you should know not to give medical advice out on this website.

Take short acting Focalin. 2.5 mg. It'll last all day...trust me.
