Are employees bound to contracts?

Just laid off from Big Pharma and looking at other opportunities. If one gets a short term job with publicist are you bound to the contract? If offered a better opportunity with longevity are there any repercussions for leaving early?

You can't be serious..It's not a contract, it's a "job". You can leave anytime you want. No wonder why you were laid off.

Most who leave before the contract ends or before an employer decides they don't want the rep anymore will end up on HR's file that everyone calls "the do not hire" list. Publicis gets embarrassed when reps find something better. It really looks bad for Publicis management when this happens right in front of the direct company's management team. Publicis works hard selling the whole idea that they offer great reps who'll work for less than one third the price of a direct hire and the reps leave asap waving saying "ba-bye".
