Applied for the Jannsen job..a few weeks ago. I got a reply on Dec. 11th, saying they would be calling me on the 12th or 13th. Well nothing. It also asked if I could fly out on the 18th? I said yes.

Of course I heard NOTHING...if they changed their minds all they have to do is email me.

What a lousy _______, company. You fill in the blank.

How would they liked to be treated?

I can attest that back a few years ago I was between gigs and applied to several positions in my area....for the most part the follow up was ok but i could tell that basically the recruiter was calling 20 people and over promising as she went along...she would call after setting up an interview and say...u are over qualified but i have another opportunity coming up etc...I flew out three times in less than three months to "final" interviews only to be told I made too much money previously or I was passed on at the last moment etc etc...it was always very rushed and very unorganized with zero real feedback. I called her after the third BS final interview and said...please remove me from your potential candidates...

Yes...I did. Back in mid sized pharma and it is no picnic but at least it pays the bills for now. Not sure there is a good way to go in pharma anymore...
True. Pharma has sucked for awhile now. Don't count on being in your job for more than a couple years - doesn't matter if you're with a manufacturer or on a contract, the industry has become too volatile.

Anyone with 4-5 years experience is over qualified for 90% of pharma reps positions...Reality is that this is viewed as a second career rung job for those 3-4 years out of college... The legacy reps with high salaries are hanging on for all they can but know that the bean counters would love to wipe those high salaries from the books. More power to those of us who've hung on but that seems to be the theme when talking with most reps.

If it was a Janssen derm or gi biologic position a lot of the positions were put on indefinite hold. I think Janssen is re-evaluating open positions thought out the country right now.
