Hi all,

Does anyone have a surgeon that has used the new stapler yet? I heard the roll out will be kind of controlled and slow. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on it, and if it's all it's cracked up to be?

We've had issues with the new stapler. The sleeve over the wrist ripped and gauze was sucked into it. I overheard the engineer saying they had this issue in the past.

I think the rollout is going to be slow since it's not ready for primetime yet.

Go read the 510k on the FDA website. Every submission is based upon being 'substantially' equivalent to something else out there. When you copy off Ethicon, how bad do you think it will be? It can't believe Covidien & Ethicon hasn't marketed off this fact that ISI copies their core tech and adapts it for the robot.

I just listened to the audio replay from the BAC conference yesterday. Management said the stapler rollout is moving along nicely.
