Anyone else ready to do something else?

Does anyone else feel like they want to do something more meaningful with their lives? Feel proud of the job they do on a day to day basis? Not feel link they are only doing this because it is the easiest thing for the money? I know I do. And I am going to do something about it. Just wondering if I was the only one who does the job everyday like I am supposed to but aches to do something else. Tick tock, my timer is on.

something more meaningful ? I agree 14 years is just too much, all the corporate b.s is not worth it anymore, but also spoiled ....soo I am on the fence,go back into "real sales " ? Did that for 16 years before I "saw the light" in Pharma ??? idk

I have been doing this almost 15 years...other sales could be appealing but I think I just want out of the whole sales thing period. That's just me. The problem with sales is its a lot of the same crap everywhere...And most companies today do not value good sales people. I feel like, especially after pharm your job can be taken fom you on a whim, and after being in pharm so long people think I can't sell something...very frustrating since I am good at it. I feel like its time to get more education, learn something else. Try something different that I have always wanted to do. All i know is I have 28 working days left and I am DONE :)

You know...here's the problem I have with posts like this. From what I can tell, there's a bunch of people who are so engulfed in the idea of working to "sell". They are unhappy with being pharma reps because there is no "real selling" going on. Well all I can say to such people is that they should probably get into careers like selling cars (used cars, mind you), Avon cosmetics, nutriceuticals with pyramiding sales structures, and other similar things. Its about time these people faced the music and get commission-based gigs...you don't "sell" anything, you don't get paid one cent at all period. See how they like that?!?

That sounds great. I am ready to try new things as well. People always tell me the grass is not greener doing something else, and sometimes that is true, but I do know people who have moved on and are much happier. I just need to be mentally prepared, because it may take more than one try to find what I want. Good luck to you.

I feel sad for you. You missed the whole point. Good luck, hope you are happy and stay happy in this tired job. Maybe it's not tired for you, but I am thrilled to be moving onward and upward. Ps...there is lots to sell out there if that's what gets your blood pumping...don't sell yourself short on used car sales ;) pun intended

Yes, every day I feel like this job is for monkeys. And I am the goilla because I continue to stay here. What I am most sick of are these coporate douchebags acting like they have created fire with all their e mails, voice mails and words of wisdom.

Maybe one day when I grow up I will think just like them!
