Last time we got a letter on a Friday, layoffs happened on that coming Thursday. So, yeah, just waiting around at this point. Feel too fractured to work.Whats happening. Anyone knows?

Sure they will happen before Greenland is renamed Red, white and blue land.Whats happening. Anyone knows?
You are wrong. Many high performers were impacted in 2024. It is pure luck that will keep or kick you out. If you belong to a group that is guzzling all the money, you may lose everyone. Hope for yourself that your group’s leadership is using the money allotted to them wisely.Don’t stop working. Poor performers go first!
Not even remotely true. Those "in the know" are aware that the layoffs are based on some combination of internal politics, strategic re-organization (i.e. if you're in Business Unit X and BMS decides to shut down Business Unit X, you are screwed), "engagement scores", race / age (to achieve balance in demographics of employees being laid off), and other nonsense.Don’t stop working. Yup! It all comes down to the business units that are being ratted on the most along with the number of employees in that unit. If you are in a large business unit, expect large cuts. If you are in a disliked business unit, expect large cuts. Nothing or little to do with performance or the therapeutic area. Along with laying off a large number of employees, you will see a lot of internal movement of employees and some new hiring. HR and senior leadership are having a field day. It is all nonsense. It would have been much better to think about company’s growth and its people rather than all these cuts. You need very intelligent people for growth and saving people which are nowhere to be seen. If you are not in a demolished business unit and are laid off individually, even here performance does not matter at all. Relationships and gossip play a big role. If you mind your own business, work hard and are completely productive, you will still be the first one to go. Why do you think it has become so bad? As perplexing as it may seem, performance has little to nothing to do with it. It's why BMS is such a shitshow and poorly run company

So far off. Performance only matters on powerpoint. What matters to HR is cost and skin tone. The first to be targeted are experienced, well paid - usually older white men. HR views each of you as easily replaceable.Don’t stop working. Poor performers go first!
No one knows who is the best and who is the worst. Who is the good, who is bad and who is ugly. It is murky and there are people who can easily be labeled one way or the other by motormouths with no sense of what they are doing to someone else whether it is true or not.We will lose some good people but the best will definitely not be gone.
There is age related discrimination here and in every other Pharma. Much bigger than any other DEI issue. Get rich early and get to the top early are the reasons capable balanced people are shut out. A lot suffer and live miserably because they are not allowed to work until their retirement ages. Anyone below an ED level or Sr D level must be allowed to work because their resources are limited. So far off. Performance only matters on powerpoint. What matters to HR is cost and skin tone. The wise will stop working altogether and focus on contingencies. If retained, you can put those of the back burner.
Soooo DEI initiatives actively fight against ageism. So sounds like you aren’t against DEI. You are just racist. There is age related discrimination here and in every other Pharma. if you would just stop abandoning 90% of your offspring, you'd be fineSoooo DEI initiatives actively fight against ageism. So sounds like you aren’t against DEI. You are just racist.
No I am not a racist. Never can be one. Age discrimination is much worse than race discrimination at BMS. This is a fact. I have seen older individuals being pushed out by this one individual and then this individual gets laid off too. That was satisfying.Soooo DEI initiatives actively fight against ageism. Woah! This is your interpretation. Cafe Pharma is a place where you can get first hand information on how twisted people areSoooo DEI initiatives actively fight against ageism. So sounds like you aren’t against DEI. You are just racist.
Older people are the worst, low productivity, unable to adapt, entitled from the days things used to be easy. Literally the worst people to work with are those 50 and up.No I am not a racist.
