Hello folks, would someone please share any information they may have about Angiotech. Anyone familiar with the comp plan, etc. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

They have a few different divisions, you'll need to be more specific. They're a small player in most markets, I'm only familiar with them on the vascular side. Recently delared bankruptcy as someone else mentioned. Just lost the Option IVC filter (which was a good product).
Not to be a CF hater, but unless you need a job so desperately that you and your family are about to be homeless, I'd look elsewhere.

I'm looking at the interventional division. And yes, I am a bit desperate. Any insight into the comp plan would be appreciated. Thanks for the serious responses.

I was called about a job w/ them a few months ago. I believe it was $120K, maybe $130K at plan. That was also right around when they filed so I'm not sure if rep comp has gone down since then. Can't imagine it's gone up.

I just got hired on with Angiotech...$150k at plan, $650 care, all expenses paid. I love the people and the products. IR is where it's at. I spent 12 years selling into the OR and this is way better!!

IR is much better than sitting around the OR, no doubt. I hope things work out for you guys, especially the new hires. Just be aware that you lost the Option filter, your dialysis catheter is going away. A big chunk of your bag is products designed by Rex Medical. I know Rex is moving most of their portfolio over to Argon. I hope Angiotech has the vision and resources to keep your pipeline full.

I had one interview with the regional mgr. and then two phone interviews with other regional mgrs. After the background check/drug test was done I was offered the position. It was done pretty fast. I never sold the Option filter so I don't miss it. I think we've got the best products and the best team.

Angiotech ( Anthrax)

It was a good run 5-6 six years ago. It's really hard to suggest this company. If you're desperate and have NOTHING else it's understandable and you MAY make some $$$ , BUT have an an exit plan. Directors at this company are ALL non- qualified dumb fucks! All contract decision have collectively sunk this company. They just laid off 20 reps and 5 RMs in Dec 2011. Merry Christmas. They cut the CEO in Oct. Get the picture? All divisions will be effected by the poor decisions and bad financial management. They are priming to sell or die.... Make your choice. Good luck....

Commodity products, though management desperately wants reps to believe otherwise.
Decent comp, though unusual. Insecure, rookie management, wants cheerleaders as much as numbers. More pharma style than device.

Argon Medical bought Angiotech. This will be the last nail in the coffin. Poor comp plans. Looks good on paper but very unobtainable. Reps last maybe a year at the most at Argon. Horrible management especially the Director of Sales. Total D8*k. Reps will have to interview to keep their positions. Enhancements of their core products including "Option Elite" are not living up to the hype. The Cleaner is horrible. Reps don't even know how to use the product correctly. Doc's hate it. Unable to secure a valid key opinion leader. Paid one kol thousands of dollars but, he doesn't use the products except when forced too. The filter is un-retrievable. Doc's hate the filter too.

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY!
