If you want to see a lack of character, professionalism and leadership...just read cafepharma. The attitudes and responses that are posted here on a daily basis...especially on the astellas board are a nice cross section of what this industry has become. If you are smart...get your personal financial affairs in order and get out! The biggest joke of all is that nobody wants to hire former pharma reps anymore...not even the industry itself...because they think everyone was UPS in a suit or better yet...trained monkey's in a suit. Unfortunately, in the leardershipless enviroment of Astellas...that is really all management wants...yes men and women who do very little critical thinking and then can be scapegoated and disposed of at anytime and for any reason....especially when things don't work out...like meeting unobtainable sales objectives with mediocre drugs. If you choose to study history... it really does sound alot like 1930's & 40's Germany. History has shown how that worked out!

It's been a HARSH reality, but I've come to realize that if you were forced out of this company (ie "Performance Planned" out, "Expense Report audited" out, "harrassed" out by managements's use of various tactics etc...), in the long run it is a blessing. You are now a member of the ousted group of people with integrity, credibility, critical thinkers, and wealthy in industry experience and years. Those who remain with the company CANNOT claim these attributes!

As I say this, look around at those who have left/been forced out over the past 2 years. Many were high performers, original hires under Roger Graham (remember that name?) - I'm certain that MANY of you who remain employed don't recognize that name! No one can dispute this statement!

While it was difficult to exit this company in that manner, take comfort in the fact that you are members of a very ELITE club. The company doesn't deserve to have individuals with such class.
