Well, that was fast. It was just months ago that Hawaii governor Abercrombie vowed to silence obama critics by finally producing his birth certificate. This just goes to show that friends can be your worst enemy. While the subject of obama's birth is usually dismissed as a non-issue, each time someone surfaces who vows to 'prove' he was born in Hawaii and then fails, it reignites wonder as to why this is so difficult to document. I understand the state can't release the document without a person's consent. But why can't this lifelong family friend get obama's consent?
BTW, I think he was born in Hawaii but also think he used status as a foreign student to get through school. He has always and will always use whatever means possible to get what he wants. No matter your position you have to wonder why he won't produce the documents to end these discussions. It is completely in obama's control. It obviously feeds his interests to leave this debate continue. Don't forget this governor was absolutely raving that he was going to produce the documents, end the discussion, and prove all doubters wrong. Funny he seems to care about it more than obama does.

Abercrombie, who was a friend of Obama's parents and knew him as a child, launched an effort last month to find a way to dispel conspiracy theories that the president was born elsewhere. The governor said at the time he was bothered by people who questioned Obama's birthplace for political reasons.
State Attorney General David Louie told the governor he can't disclose an individual's birth documentation without a person's consent, Abercrombie spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said.
