Amendia Spine

Another bullshit surgeon owned spine company that pays surgeons to use their crappy implants. Another joke. Any surgeon using this is on the take, and unethical to say the least. These tiny starts ups have to pay because their implants and reps are so inadequate that no one in their right mind would use them. Does that answer your question? Bottom feeders of the spine world.

I think you better be careful on what you say unless you have facts.

why are people so quick to say that docs are on the take if they work with a company that's not a bazzillion dollar seller?

are the docs who took money from Medtronic for their Infuse "research" more ethical than docs who work with start-up companies to develop products that they want to use in their own cases?

I have seen the way Medtronic, Synthes, Stryker and DePuy maintain relationships with hospitals and surgeons by funding education and research. donating equipment for education is just a bribe to keep the competition out of the materials management office.

do you think the reps for those companies are somehow different from the reps for small companies?

why does Medtronic [and the others] buy small companies? Becasue the small companies develop new technology with those docs.

It's funny how the field reps of the largest spine companies are so quick to voice such strong opinions about smaller competitors. You are like chihuahuas protecting your small territories; one or two accounts that are eroding due to competition from companies like Amendia. If I were you, I'd be spending more time learning how to sell than waiting by your phone for the next case to call you.

Good try 458. Go ahead and talk about what a great sales person you are but I will enjoy making money in a giant account that just signed a 3 vendor contract....Big surprise...Amendia isn't one of them

Both large and small companies have created this monster. Big companies are as guilty as small when measured by ethics. . . don't get to proud, you know it is true. Justification by reps on both sides is to watch. I have worked with both over the years. . . Honestly, most reps are not much better, often worse. In my experience, most reps are fairly arrogant around other reps as they beat their chest, and embarrassingly submissive when dealing with the surgeons that have complete control over their livelihood. Just read the above quote . . . really? You make my point well. You must have been awesome in that meeting where they selected vendors. It will all go away soon enough . . .

Good for you. I'll enjoy making 40% commission on my cases while you cover 2 twice as many to make a fraction of what I do.
