Run! This company had become so top heavy and all they care about is Money! They hire anyone to fill positions and have alot/most terrible managers that have no clue what they are doing. They try to find an escape goat to cover thier ass! I would not go through the crap they are wanting a rep to do now. They have made the sales reps into gophers for the clinical staff, given the reps computers to enter thier calls into this bullshit program and given cell phones with GPS to track your every move. They are telling the reps that it is mileage related but you know someone is sitting there waiting to get some crap on you to fire you so they can make themselves look good. If you get a job offer...RUN!

Sounds pretty bad for someone. I've had good friends working for Amedisys and their experience is quite different, but I can imagine there are bad agencies within a corporation. If you need help in finding employment, you might want to check out my two websites. The first one, QuietHire allows you to remain completely anonymous. The second one, <a href=http://homehealthrecruiter.com">HomeHealthRecruiter specializes in Home Health.

I agree RUN!!!! I worked for Amed for a long time back when they actually cared about the patient. This is what they still want to portray. The truth is they only want medicare patients. That's how they make their money. Check out how much money Bill Borne, CEO made last year. With all of his perks he did very well. I think it's great to make money but not at the expense of patients or employees. The middle management people are very stupid. Leaving that company was one of the best things I've ever done.

Yeah, what the heck is an "escape goat"? And why would firing you make them look good?
What's the problem w/GPS if you have nothing to hide? You just sound like an blabbering idiot!! Get over it!

I agree all they want is to make money the only patients they want are medicare and then after they get all their money they try to get rid of them or cut down their care to once or twice week Some nurses do over 100 visit a week while others do 15 This is unsafe but the high ups look the other way!

What a company! Gave them 2 and a half years only to be released by "interim" manager and AVP of ops. I always heard..... once on the ops VP bad list you could never get off that list. I believe that now. Spying on employees like grade school teachers. They wanted rid of me and found a way to "squeeze" me out. 5 managers in 2 1/2 years. what's up with that? I won't even mention the nepotism that seems to go unoticed in certain agencys. I was a "shared" Account Executive by 2 separate agencies. Seemed like one agency really liked and appreciated me and the other one just the opposite. That is what happens when a DOO is the sister of the AVP of Operations. They even had the BOM in on their spying scheme. Glad I am out of there. Hopefully the SEC investigation won't reveal too much about their therapy practices. Gee thanks for the 2 week severance package. I will put that in savings and draw the interest. LOL.

I've been with Amedisys for 10 months and can see some practices changeing. I do believe they truly want the best, quality care for their patients. But just like every company, they need to watch the bottom line. This is the 5 major company I've worked for and out of all, Amedisys is far better. They care for their patients and for employees. If you work for 2 hrs and have to leave for the day, you get paid for 8. Of course I'm in a full-time salaried position, this doesn't apply to PRN. All in all I'm impressed. Amedisys is forward thinking, they realize Medicare will cut payment under health care reform, but they are doing something about it now, not waiting and laying off tons of people. I do agree some agencies are not ran correctly, because the VP made a pour decision on the Agency directors....that trickles down to the people he/she hires.
As far as the sales rep....I was in sales for 15 years, companies do expect you to meet at least some of your goals, but Amedisys at least sends people out to help the reps, not tear them apart. So if you are looking for a great company to work for, forward thinking, who does care about their patients and employees we are the place for you. Amedisys is not in a vacuum, we have the same problems as other large corporations, but I think it is far less as other major companies.

I have an idea. If you don't like Amedisys, then quit. I bet you can not get a job anywhere else with the amazing benefits that you get with Amedisys. Grow up! Welcome to the world where companies try to make money. This is clearly something you are unfamiliar with. Welcome to AMERICA!!!!! Bill Borne cares more about patients, that you ever have. I have worked for this company for 8 years and in 3 different offices. The mission is always the same. Patient care is always #1.

I am a therapist who recently resigned from my position with Amedisys. Each office is run differently and it depends on the financial stability of the office as to how "bad" it is. Medicare reimburses each city differently in respect to geographical location. Those in a large metropolis are going to be better than those in "po-dunk farmville." It boils down to reimbursement. My issues with Amedisys are the documentation and computer nightmares. I worked for them for about 2 years with the constant promise of "updates", "fixes", and the end of "character block" in the huge boxes we were given to fill. Spending 2 hrs every evening on notes /evals after driving all over creation (sometimes 4 hrs a day of just driving)
was really playing havoc on my brain.

I AM SO AMAZED AT THE FOLKS WHO STAY WITH AMEDISYS. MOST PEOPLE SHOULD SEE THE TURNOVER & THE JOB LISTINGS SPEAKING VERY LOUD. I WAS WITH THE COMPANY 3 YEARS & NEVER HAVE SEEN THE UNETHICAL PRACTICES SO RAMPANT. THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN WORK FOR THIS COMPANY ARE THE ONES WHO CAN COMMIT FRAUD & SLEEP AT NIGHT.....

I worked for Amedisys for 3 years and I think their CORE BELIEFS really SUCK! they sound really good but if they really mean them they need to practice them. I was fired by my AVP under false accusations and I HAD PROOF that she was wrong! I have worked many different places but have never been done so badly. I hope she burns! I knew she was trying to get rid of me, was warned by more than one co-worker for almost a year. Had to make up a lie to get me out. I made chairmans club my first year with the company, received a leadership award, had the lowest employee turnover rate of the entire region, made presidents club the years I didn't make chairman's club, my agency made Home Care Elite top 100 agency list every year I worked as a DOO, but still I was screwed out of my job! Unbelievable! AND OH YES, many times I was told by my AVP to push therapy visits, to get that 10th visit in any way possible, to meet those "therapy buckets!", "more therapy visits, the more money", etc. She preached forever that if the therapist has 9 visits ordered that I needed to tell them they can "re-teach something to get that tenth visit in"! I could write a book about her conniving! They loved those Medicare patients!!! MY AVP wanted me to limit my Medicaid patients because it hurt my financials! I am ready to 'spill the beans' folks! If you get an offer to 'join Amedisys', you better turn the other cheek and RUN! because they will fire you at the drop of a hat for what ever reason they can come up with and not think twice about it!!!!!!!!!They only think about the money!

Obviously YOU have not been with AMEDISYS Long enough!! Give it some time and you will learn that all they care about is the money!! The New CEO has just resigned! DUH! They have lost a bunch of good people! What is wrong with this picture???????? Hideand watch, and forget holding on to your job because you can be let go at the drop of a hat like the rest of us and they won't think twice about it!

I am an Amedisys employee at this time and I can honestly say the only reason I am still working for this company is because I haven't been able to find another job close to home with a salary that will meet the needs of my family. But I can assure you when I do find something I will be blazing a trail out of there. All they care about is money...some of the clinicians in my office are seeing 15-16 patients per day which is twice what is required. I pulled my schedule in one day to find 20 visits. That is impossible to do. You have to spend a minimum of 30 minutes with each patient, so 20 patients is 10 hours worth of work with no travel time...so if they all lived next door to one another I would have still have to work 10 hours that day plus being on call that day as well...lol. This company is a joke and does not care about it's employees AT ALL!!! And the person that said they will fire you at the drop of a hat was very correct...I've been with the agency for 1 and a half years and there is only one original clinician still employed at my office...if you ever get on the DOO's "list" you WILL be fired!!! I have seen it happen to many good nurses just because the boss was pissed off with them for standing up for what is right and for being good patient advocates. Beware of this company...they suck you in with promises of great flexible hours and awesome pay then they screw you out of your hard earned money just like they do me when I work overtime...the policy explains how overtime pay is to be paid, but the office manager says "well what the policy doesn't tell you is"...bullshit, the policy is the policy, but they tweek it however they see fit to avoid paying you what you have worked for!
