Amazon looked at buying a start-up developing at-home health tests called Confer Health, but talks broke down a few months ago.
As recently as this summer, it had a team dedicated to diagnostics within its moonshots group "Grand Challenge." It is unknown whether the group is still active.
A move into the home health-testing space would be a signal of Amazon's ambitions to remake the entire health care supply chain, and could compete with testing giants Quest and LabCorp.

But really how many tests could be offered on a take home test kit? Cholesterol and a few other tests possibly. I don’t see this being a major threat if it ever happens. Theranos was the last real major threat but look where they went.

Yea, you are right. And who is going to stop shopping at stores to buy things online and wait for them to ship. And how many things could they offer anyway.
 












Sure Amazon, Apple, and Tesla are hot commodities socially - but you have to remember one thing.....

People WANT to shell out their money for iPhones, shopping at Amazon and Whole Foods, and even if
they don't have or can't afford a Tesla - they are fascinated with the idea of driving one.

But they DO NOT want to pay any of the expenses associated with their healthcare - that is the job of
insurance. Furthermore, while most American women across all socioeconomic strata obsess over breast cancer and other "female" medical issues, the average male won't even go to a doctor until chest, or some other pain, forces them to make an unscheduled trip. I would love to see how one of these so called genius's would navigate the business in this environment.

I say - GOOD LUCK - to Amazon or whomever decides to dive in on this!
