Man, this once great opportunity has already turned sideways because of the hiring managers. I’m sorry. See, you hire candidates that strive to work for a company, not because they’re looking to leave somewhere or because they’re “your people”. Never works for a launch. Mark my words. Not even close to true. How many launches have you been on? Every launch I’ve done, the most successful teams are “their people.” Why would you risk hiring someone you can’t vouch for? What if they just interview well?

You hire people you know and have 1st hand knowledge of their capabilities. On day 1 you don’t waste a minute getting to know someone and tip toe around their strengths and weaknesses. On day 1 you have a sales plan and you know how each and every one of your employees is going to execute.

Wake up man. Any manager who isn’t hiring one of their people is only doing it because they have NOBODY for that territory. Even in those instances the manager knows who the successful reps are in the territory. Smart managers hire tried and true reps not you.
