How is this position? Good for getting into the industry? Do you learn a lot? How do the reps generally do comp wise? Just want to get an idea in case I get an offer.

RUN. Unless you like being micro-managed and having to provide examples of how you "moved share" every day to your DM through voice mail or text. Starting salaries are garbage too.

Don't listen to all the negativity. This is a great job! Nice car, low salary, some bonus, benefits, supportive pod, micromanager to ensure you work from 8-5, free iPad, free breakfast at Panera twice a month!! AND you get to work with 10 team members calling on The same offices! One big happy group bringing value to every office every week. What's not to love?

Disregard the two previous posts. It is a great opportunity to get into the industry at a good company that has one of the strongest longterm pipelines, with opportunities for rapid advancement if you excel. You are only micromanaged if you show that you need to be micromanaged, and providing examples of success in a 3 sentence text it hardly a hardship. I have seen PCRs in our region get promoted to specialty in under a year. Are the starting salaries low for the industry, sure, but I challenge you to get a pharma job these days with no previous experience. The top PCR bonuses i have been seeing recently have been 15k+/quarter, with average reps making around 7500, not including all the contests that are going on that can net you a significant bump or send you on a lavish vacation. You should expect to work AT LEAST 50 hour weeks with some nights, work with a team of 3-4 other reps depending on your bag, and yes, we are required to make more calls (and pharmacy work) than reps from other companies, but if you can make it here you will also set yourself up to work at any other company you want. Dont listen to these clowns, if you get the shot, go for it.

This is a plant; same bait & switch crap. If you're fresh out of college, maybe. If you have a career in another industry, dont take it. There is NO CAREER in Pharma and once you are pigeon holed ESPECIALLY at this company, it is a life of mental torture/back stabbing/mind numbing existence.

Don't listen to this clown. Allergan/Forest has HR Monitors that respond to these types of posts. Seriously though, if you are desperate, then maybe. otherwise run. This is not a real pharma company, it is a hedge fund run by Brent Saunders. They call it "growth pharma"...don't be fooled. Forest Pharmaceuticals used to be a great company to work for, 8 or 9 years ago. Not this place though.

They low ball you and say this is the best in the industry ... well it's below par!! Other companies train and value their employees and promote creativity! Not here!!! Others offer more money and better benefits and better drugs .

Go look elsewhere. Pharma is slowly dying. Less and less Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance dollars for branded products in the primary care market. Likely you will get into a situation where your manager strangles you with pressure and you will just develop into a mindless minion willing to accept $7500 a quarter in bonus. There are better positions available. Don't concede; keep looking for a better option. If you are young and looking for development and long term earnings you need to look past Allergan and pursue other things.
