With the merger there are now multiple plants in multiple countries making the same thing. When is the company going to start closing plants in say Singapore, Brazil, Porto Rico?

Why does this company need to have 4 MFG sites in each one of those countries.

Also when are they going to shut down Rahway and West Point, Huge sites with little or no manufacturing!

Good luck shutting West Point. The easiest site to close down that would save the most money has got to be Boston. But that ain't happening either. I don't think this company knows what it wants to do.

what do you think Willie's team is figuring out right now....?

What do you mean figuring out? Lets just think about this for a second....it's all been done. It's all been done before! Willie and his 'team' have the plans all laid out for them. It's all about excecution now(no pun intended).

Comedy does usually require a grain of truth to be funny. I laughed and then I went back to worry.

??? Are people here oblivious to what goes on here at Merck? Cuong Viet Do was hired around 2010. Do you even know what his old jobs were?

I say it will be Novartis that will gobble us up. anyone else have any thoughts?

Nah, if you look at the mergers in the past-it has been to make a country-centric theme.

Novartis wants Roche=all Swiss.
Sanofi got Aventis=French
GSK will stay Brit and maybe chase after AZ.

So, we're left with a dance with either BMS or Pfizer. We could buy BMS or Pfizer could get some capital and do a leverage on us.

No way we buy BMS! We choked and then vomited after ingesting S-P. After eight years of restructuring including the years preceding S-P, the futility of this approach should be apparent to executive management. The effort to return to pre-merger head count will have been in vain if the process were start all over again. Of course Ken may be reading these boards and thinking to himself.......hey, I know, I've got an idea.
