First let me say good luck to all. I just happened to see the news this am. I have been through this and it is not fun I lost my job twice. First, they will tell you to keep working do not do it. First take a deep breath hug the wife and kids and go back to bed this morning and sleep it off. Take the rest of the holidays and enjoy your family and friends. Finally, start sending out the old resume at the first of the year. Good luck to all you are in my thoughts.

DONT GO BACK TO BED!! Get your resume out TODAY..this is not time to RELAX, this is time to GET IN FRONT OF the long line of unemployed Pharma reps out there. Much harder to get a job when you dont have one and believe me; No one at CUBIST will be kept; I predicted this buy out and I know what I am talking about. Merck will not keep any Cubist employees..too many people on street that can do the same job, without the "culture" issues Cubist brings, for less

Lazy attitudes will leave you unemployed. Start looking immediately -- no one hires unemployed reps.

The above advice is true. Don't go back to bed or feel sorry for yourself, get to work making a network that can get you an opportunity for another job. No one is going to come to your bedside looking to interview you from there. Remember, very few reps get hired when they are unemployed because you are damaged goods. Good luck to all, but luck favors those that put forth the most effort.

Nobody said not to look. I just said take a deep breath today sleep it off today have a stiff drink and enjoy the rest of holidays with the family. Nobody is hiring this time of year and you will just aggravate the hiring manager if you try to hard. Now at the first of the year the minute New Years is over you need to make it your resolution to find a job. Good luck to all you are in my thoughts.

Great point...

Listen to the poster above. Screening for jobs hires next year take place now! Don't kid yourself. My partner had most of his interviews between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Job was lined up in early 2014.

So if I were to take your advice, I should be getting hammered, be passive in any interview I get and delay what I could be getting accomplished towards securing another job. Sounds like solid advice....now where did I put that whiskey bottle, it's time to get drunk and postpone things!

Nobody said to stay drunk. I said a stiff drink. I promise you that if you stress over a job during the holiday you will piss off the hiring manager. You are getting paid now screw Cubist stay home and enjoy family and friends. If you really think getting a 2 or 3 week jump start during Christmas on your job search is going to help you are crazy. Last your spouse and kids will respect you more if you just chill out. I have been through this twice and trust me it does suck. Again, good luck to all of you.
