Advice: Interview in January

I know people love to complain on CP but I need to know what really is going on with this company. Stock at 12 then 3 now 5. Will Cadence survive? Worth leaving my job for? Thanks

I think things are looking up! Needless to say, 99.9% of the posts on here are the slackers that can't cut it. Tenured reps that have been dealt a more difficult deck of cards than they have ever had to deal with. It hasn't been an easy ride but we aren't big pharma either. I am happy even though there have been struggles. If you want a cake walk, go elsewhere. However, I continue to believe in the company regardless of what all the whiners are posting. We do have a great drug to sell, even though it is not reinventing the wheel, there is an unmet need in the treatment of pain. And no...I am not management. Can't wait for the whiners to reply though... Caution again, not easy, but I do like the culture and I think in the future it will pay off. Stock is turning around and investors are finally seeing the value.

"I am not management", no you sound much more like upper management.

3:36am posting, appears you must be on the west coast, that narrows it down even more.

Of course you "believe in the company", you're sitting on a pile of worthless underwater options.

"Unmet need to treat pain", right because prior to IV tylenol coming along pain management consisted of knocking the patient out after a shot of whiskey.

"Culture"? You have levels of management who expected the company to be bought and to be long gone by now. Now, they are stuck here "reinventing the wheel" of micromanagement, while trying to conjure up the language to explain in interviews why they ever took this job. You have a turnover rate growing faster than tylenol sales. Reps rewarded with gift accounts, while neighboring territories go on PIPs.

"The future will pay off"? It has to because the past and present are definitely not. This was sold to us as a 3-5 year gig, we're in year 3.

Finally, you are so optimistic and positive, yet you come on here and call your colleagues "whiners" and "slackers", yet encouraging someone to join this company? Your insecurity is stifling, you likely are sending out more resumes than seasons greetings at this time.

You are a douche.

I am sincerely telling you not to go for this job. I will tell you that the vast majority of the existing reps are looking for other jobs. Our director of marketing just left this week and they are planning on downsizing the management team as some managers only have 5 reps on their whole team. Future wise, remember this is just a company that sells a drug and there is no science department and no R&D. We have no pipeline and no strong amout of money to vie for a novel new drug. My advice is to start looking at secure existing companies with strong pipelines and with a fleet car and 401k match as we have none of those. We all lose money every month on our care allowance program. I would only take this job if you were out of a job. Try to seek out existing reps that would be nearby and hopefully they will be honest with you.

My prediction is that the product will be sold off in the coming year to the highest bidder. Company is losing money and can't keep diluting stock and get the stock to go up.

Well said.
