I see that Acumed has a new volar distal radius plate, the "Acu-Loc 2". Is it any good? Looks like they added fragment specific palting too....

Are these causing you guys to lose business? Im seeing it everywhere in my territory!

Acu-Loc 2 offers you distal or proximal plating options as well as a nice feature called Frag Loc to capture dorsal fragments. Look out!

For the most part, a distal radius plate is a distal radius plate. It's laughable that Acumed could not roll out a variable angle screw with the launch of Acu-Loc 2. Just standard Acumed being Acumed. Probably had a glorified box cutter working as the product manager again.

I've heard of a lot of tendon ruptures with this plate and the old Acumed Distal Radius Plate. Has this been the case in your areas as well? It was reported in JBJS as well.

I've had multiple surgeons switch to other plates due to Acumed Acu-Loc causing tendon rupture. This has caused a drastic loss in my territories business.

Dont really need a variable screw if the plates work right, variable screws are a pain and take longer. no tendon ruptures here!!

I've also had numerous surgeons in my territory switch away from my Acumed Aculoc & Aculoc 2 Plate due to tendon ruptures whether it was their own or someone else's work.
