Can someone pleae give me a little background on the Acclarent Training Manager position: total compensation? day to day activities? etc.

I would greatly appreciate any honest feedback you may be able to provide.

Best job! You just make everyone in the Company fill out a lot of paperwork to justify your job. You never answer a phone. Reps and MDS end up doing your job because this department pretends to be too busy or that their team's too busy to cover cases and collect a fat paycheck for nothing. Oh I forgot to mention all the "trips" this department takes. Pay is great for the amount of work that is actually done. A dream job if you like to travel, get paid to do it and actually not have to work.

This will be the first department cut followed by the mds. JNJ usually gives 1 year to run the same and then makes changes. If you're looking to go to Acclarent, ENTC is the only choice because it will eventually be the only positon. JNJ getting ready to make many changes. As reps we're making less which is the first change and we've been directed to not spend the majority of time in the OR anymore we are directed to do the clincial job in that we are now allowed to in-office train which once was only allowed by this department and mds will soon have less responsibility which will eliminate both support roles to the reps. JNJ does this with every company they've taken over. Then they move on to axing current management. I do agree with the post above and JNJ won't let all the stuff that went on before to continue, it's not cost effective, and it's not necessary.

MDS is a joke, the managers will lie and say you are part of the sales team but you are the furthest thing from sales. Wait for the ENTC job, do not try to use MDS as a stepping stone.

MDS managers lie the worst. Acclarent people have no idea what it is to be honest. Agree with previous post to wait for an ENTC position-but those managers lie too. Tell you that if you do well as MDS you'll get promoted then make up new rules as they go. Dishonest people. Been with JNJ before and they won't put up with this type of crap.

Best move is to forget Acclarent, get a job with Entellus, crush the territory for 12-18 months, then become a real sales manager when we expand again. We expanded March '10, now again in May '11, and definitely will again (8ish months) if we're not purchased yet. The really, really good news is that J&J won't buy us--they have Acclarent--so we'll get to keep earning real money even after we're purchased!!

You are right about the money situation for sure. Recruiter told a new hire candidate that they'd make $260K this year-no effing way. What is an average salary at plan at Entellus? In office is killing us on price and packaging. Our numbers are already starting to slide, manager insults and unrealistic goals are already starting. You think Medtronic or Stryker will buy Entellus?
