CV rep here....What makes you think the Exforge or Diovan goals are attainable? Its different for everyone across the country. Some have very attainable Reclast & Patch goals others don't. Beleive me , They are trying to squeeze every ounce of blood out of Diovan before going generic. And once that happens, they know the pharmacies are going to make docs split Norvasc & Diovan. Patients will be able to get it for 2 $4.00 co-pays. $8.00, how do you compete with that selling a branded 2nd Tier drug like Exforge for $30-50 bucks?
They only give a small weighted % on Diovan to those that have it. As for Exforge, they make it JUST a bit unattainable. There isn;t one district or territory in our entire region that is at Exforge goal. They are all around 96-98% to plan.
They dangle the carrot just enough to tell you " ohhh a little bit more and you can do it!" Then once the payouts come they will pull the rug out from all of us and say great job but you just missed it!!!
Do nothing and get paid is what I say. They are going to screw you twice. 1. by not paying you out and screwing with the numbers like always and 2. by laying you off and saying thanks for busting your ass for 3 months for nothing, the higher ups appreciate the bonus they will all get!
My suggestion -
1. Do as little as possible to get by, get 3-4 signatures/day.
2. Give them 8-10 calls/day
3. Dust off the resume
4. Give it out to your friends who are doctors to pass out (if you want to stay in Pharma)
5. Find a second job during the day (for some extra dough)
6. Start creating a business plan for your own business
Anything is better than Pharma....its a dead industry!
