Abbvie hired Darren Washington as national sales director for dermatology after he was demoted from the same position at Lilly and "encouraged" at long last to leave the company. He is a total jerk.

I am in the Lilly Derm division and the OP is correct. DW was taken out of the national sales position a while ago and placed in a job in training one level down with no direct reports. Earlier this year he was basically asked to leave the company I can assure you he was not well thought of by reps and managers in the derm division.

DW is a mess. Over the years at Lilly he was promoted because of reverse discrimination. He only hired women and was applauded by corporate leadership. Then, he was promoted to the highest level of incompetence. Like the other poster said, he was both demoted and later separated from Lilly because they finally recognized that he was leaving bodies behind. Leading through fear and intimidation. Good luck if you’re on derm, if not avoid derm.

who cares, with all the movement in pharma it’s impossible to not hire heavy from certain companies during expansion efforts. Not a bad thing.
