A Very Difficult Launch

So the launch of our new drug will soon be here. What are the challenges? First, you must be over 100% with Vesicare to earn bonus dollars with our new product. Take into account about half or a little more of the reps are above goal now. You will not be able to grab low hanging fruit from Vesicare. It must all come from competitors or by expanding the market. Take into account the following, both these drugs will have the same exact indication for the same disease state. Also, the OAB market has been in decline for about 5 years. We also have 23 million americans out of work. This is the first time in my career I can't go out there and just sell the drug to everybody.

Astellas has really gone out of the way to limit the bonus dollars with the new product by creating the 100% rule with Vesicare.

Our launch is going occur in the middle of the donut hole. What I am trying to say is we have to be perfect to have some success. No one seems to challenge any of this. I saw and heard a rep. challenge or debate a manager at a hub meeting, now the rep is disliked among this group of managers. I just do not understand.

Marketing even got upset when asked about the spelling of the name. I can't have this conversation with my manager because I would be fired.

Formulary status will not be awful at the beginning. Some tier 3 vs tier 2. It depends how motivating our marketing is. I am very worried about the skills of our marketing people. Lets just leave it at that.

The gig is almost up. Wake up folks. Obamacare/Romneycare is gonna get us all. MHC will control what's Rx even more than they do now. You won't need 1200 reps, just a few lobbyist.
 
























Have no worries everybody, our highly talented and focused leadership team has created both a playbook AND new physician segments. With these two tools, we can do anything we put our minds to!! After I complete my second reading of the playbook I will sand my floors, paint my fence and wax my cars. From there I will enter the local karate tournament where I will beat Johnny in the finals!! All by using the power of the playbook!!
 






The playbook is not all that bad if it has the rebuttles to objections. All of that stuff helps and does not hurt.

I just do not know why they have to hurt us with the bonus dollars. The launch strategy is complicated. Its the same disease state and indication!
 












IC plan isn't public knowledge yet. Most common rumor is if Vesicare goes down or stays flat you get $0.

Current IC plan is crap as well. Clearly designed to motivate some to leave so they don't have to have layoffs in April when PCP is combined. Not gonna work Northbrook. There's no where else to go in this job market.

The best part of all is that all of the posts in this thread are dead wrong. Cracks me up how damn dumb they are and people that have posted them. Hope you get put out on your butts and we can get better more skilled reps that can sell than rather be entitled whiny little bitches.

Enlighten us. What's wrong in the above posts? Most of what's written has been said on conf calls. The rest has been leaked frm Mgr meetings. Tell us o wise one, where have we all gone wrong?

Guarantee I've been @ APUS longer than you have. We are good at some things but APUS couldn't launch a paper airplane.

Even if you kill it with the new product and take some share from vesi you will get no new bonus money. You will also hurt your vesi bonus. With this strategy apus could payout about 50% less in bonuses. This is a hell of a plan for the executives if you ask me. The sad truth is that none of the directors will fight for us. This
implicates the directors more than ever.

Why can't some of the managers see they have been hosed. They are asking for the impossible at Americas most difficult time. We have lost all independent thinkers.

Well clearly we aren't as smart as you are. How about you get specific for us. When did I say I suck at selling? There a many more things that go into a launch than just sales skills. Just ask the APUS marketing team...wait, that won't work
