One of the dirty little secrets in talk radio is that many of these programs are FORCED onto local affiliates when owned by big corporations like Clear Channel. Case in point, Glenn Beck was carried in Wash DC where his ratings were virtually non-existent. They are TOLD by HQ to carry it even in places where the population clearly leans the other way. DC votes over 90% dem and there was no progressive radio. A lot of times many of these 2nd and 3rd tier conservative programs are carried as a package deal; in other words, if you want Rush, then you must also carry Levin, Savage, or Hannity.

Its a scam, and so is Rush's ratings. That claim of 20 million listeners have NEVER been verified.
