So I am no stranger to cafepharma and how bias and negative posts and the people that post can be, but I have never seen such negativity and mass consensus on how terrible a company is to work for. I don't know about you guys but I am getting extremely nervous. If anyone has heard anything otherwise please start sharing. If not I suggest we all get our resumes updated ASAP. This place sounds like it will eat us alive!

I have been at Salix for 5 years and am very happy. Take these negative comments with a grain of salt. Yes, you are expected to work hard and I have worked very hard here, but I make crazy money. They reward hard work better than any company I know. Find a Salix veteran rep once this deal closes and talk to them to get information.

Id rather take my chances and find another job vs working for Salix.

I agree. I've spoken with a couple of ex-Salix reps over the years and they did not speak highly of the company culture. One left, willingly I might add, within a year. Warner-Chilcott was the only other company I had heard the most negativity about over the years. And WC has just been merged with Actavis who is laying off most, if not all, of the WC reps.

People get a grip. If you are offered a job take. Work hard but smart. Geezzzzz why is everyone so afraid of hard work? People would give their eye teeth for a pharma job. Gain some perspective, the idiots on this board want to scare you. We have no way of knowing what the future is. If you don't like the job or manager once you are there then leave. It really is very simple. Live a simple life. Pay your bills, don't over spend. Live below your means. This pharma gig should have taught you that by now. If you keep sticking your head in the sand then shame on you. Face it. Your life is changing. The sooner you deal with it the better you will be.
Stop bitching. Life is to short.

Thank you so much.... Totally agree. "Booohoooo we may have to work an 8-5 job now". Life is good folks, relax. Earn your paycheck.

Let me tell you something. The Santarus reps and managers have floated in their own little world, with not knowing what pharma is like. Many started back in the early 2000's and have had it very cushy, especially with the arrogant management team. It's time for a reality check. Time to get off your high horses and bow to your new leaders.

Most will not have an opportunity to "bow to your new leaders". Most will endure a period of unemployment and eventually secure something better than what Salix had to offer. That's the more realistic scenario.

Get over yourself Salix. We started from nothing! You are the ones that don't know shit. I for one pray that I am not retained to work for your POS company. Give me the severance.

Me too. Do we have the option to reject their offer to stay? I've met the 2 Salix reps in my city...they hate the place.

Or if enough Santarus people which have class come over perhaps we can change their Fear and Intimidation 1970's culture.
