$726.00 bill

I am a patient posting on this board. (I'm also a device rep for a different company).

Last Feb., during my annual physical, my doctor took, what I thought was, a routine blood draw, and sent it in for testing.

Results came back, in a timely manner.

A few months later, I got a bill for over $2500.00. I had my Dr.'s office resubmit, because they filed it with the wrong insurance company. I just got a bill for $726.00.

WTF? This should be a routine lipid profile. What in the world is up with this bill?

But are you aware that 50% of heart attacks happen in patients with normal ldl levels? This test might have saved your life. As a patient you have to see the value in this test. Furthermore, complaining on an anonymous board shows your lack of compatibility with practical resolutions for getting your bill resolved. Call Atherotech's customer service number, which is duly noted and available on our company website and on the bill you have received, is posted in integers you should hopefully be able to interpret and dial on a telephone. Try and resolve it through the means provided. I am sure the device company you work for is very glad to have a brainiac like you working for it. Hopefully people's lives don't depend on how you instruct your customers on how to use your products.

Wow. Is that how you treat your customers. Just hurl insults? How mature. No wonder Atherotech is going to shit.

Gotta love the company reps that troll the Cafepharma boards in the middle of the day. Is that part of your plan for success?

Today I learned your customer service didn't bill my insurance, they just sent me a bill without submitting. There's a recipe for success, well done.

I also see is a long list of unnecessary tests. Code stacking might be good for the bottom line, but not what's in the best interest of the patient, or healthcare costs, or long term success. It's a recipe for disaster.

I certlainly see value in understanding my lipid profile, which is why I am compliant with my yearly physical. I will never allow my doctor to send my bloodwork to Atherotech, too shady.

I see Atherotech is going bankrupt, I can certainly see why that's happening.

What city are you in and we will contact the rep and have them get in touch with you? Or, you can just ignore the bill and after the third invoice you will not be billed again for Atherotech has no collections at this time so no worries with an unpaid bill.

Not even billing insurance for a big panel of tests. Just billing the customer thousands of dollars. Wow.

You are one stupid person. Do you really believe that poster is a patient?? Even if they were, you have no authority to speak on the company's behalf; secondly you SURE have no business posting something like this on a public forum. Are you crazy???? Get off and stay off. If you are interested at all in the company's well-being, stay off here and just do your job.

Surely you jest!! Are you serious? Now you want to suppress from the public what you've been telling us to say the whole time??? You are want us to bloat test panels and then speak about the well-being of the company?

You get off and stay off. You are really dumb if you think you can control what people say on the internet. Go buy some more skinny jeans and try to squeeze into them, Clint.

I truly am a patient. Having said that, this manager is absolutely correct. That statement is a massive CMS violation.

Good to know that I don't have to pay the bill.

Slim Shady

For a company that can't pay its rent, it sure has some pompous assholes. Maybe that is the root of the problem- such blind arrogance that they are unaware of obvious flaws including a bootleg billing policy that rips people off.

Looks like this anonymous JACKASS, decided to shut their mouth.
