$6M Judgement against EBI division of BMET

The latest in a long history of improper tactics by the boys from New Jersey. Fined $6M by the feds for improper payments to surgeons, a practice long encouraged by Pastena and blessed by Saint Dane.

So were the office staff actually being paid to prescribe like the orthofix cases, or was this just too much wining and dining, as in spending way too much on lunches and dinners for staff?
I would hate to be in the bone stim division, it seems like they're just forced into shady business because of old technology.

No, This was a systematic payoff to surgeons. In exchange for purchases, the surgeons were paid cash and it was booked as royalties or consulting. That plan goes all the way up through senior management.

I guess the other bone stim companies are up next. The DOJ seems to be going down the list. First Orthofix, then EBI. Who's next?
