Where is this coming from? What do you mean by 27% cut to defined contribution? Have they announced any change to 6% + 5.5%?

Astellas is reducing our annual defined contribution, normally 5.5%, down to 4%. This is the contribution we get in late January. That is a 27% reduction. They make it sound like it’s only a 1.5% reduction, but that is a $1500 annual reduction per $100,000 of income.

The real truth is inflation is so high under 46 that these corporations have to make cuts like the one above to continue to make growth. Inflation was 1.6% Jan 2021. Having fun yet?

You realize astellas has just built a 90 million dollar building in hippie town San Francisco while everyone is escaping it. You realize astellas just purchased an entire ophthalmology company for 6 billion. They have the employees in the US scrounging for pennies. Low salaries and no bonus. This is the deep ugly truth about astellas. The reputation about how employees are treated is starting to get into the community. I believe some deep hatred exist for the people in the US.

i keep hearing you add this to every thread but i’ve spent 10 years in the field and 10 years in the office and i promise the field life is WAY WAY better. i never knew people in the office worked this hard in pharma. home folks probably work a lot more a day. and i do not care if you believe it. we start at 6am with prep for the back to backs. plus you lose car which is like a pay cut. we all on have issues with something. move along sir
