You're out of pharma and into devices but still trolling the Novartis section of cafe pharma? seems about right to me. So basically, you either tried or trying to get a job with Novartis or you got fired or laid off.

You sound a little bitter to me. Good luck finding another job. With an attitude like that..it's going to take you a LONG time to find a job. If you're still employed...good luck. the gravy train pharma gig is up. I was there once...so I know the deal.

Even medical devices will be unstable in the near future. The whole pharma & medical device markets will be in bad times for a very long time and there are not enough medical device jobs out there to fill the needs of the high pharma unemployment problem. You have to know someone to get in and this person who did get a job had known someone. Will these jobs last. Probably not. Unfortunately many jobs that will be more stable are going to require more education or retraining into a new career like engineering, MIS, comp sci, logisitics, or nursing. These will be in high demand and pay very well. Besides, we have serious domestic and global economic problems with a govt deficit that will drain the dollar. You do not think that Obama care will put a real dent into our markets. It will. Its only time when the bubbles collapse and send unemployment even higher.

I'm in the same boat. I got a MUCH better specialty job but have friends who talk to me about their living hell as they are still at NVS. I'm just curious, like a lot of other people. Also, it was very difficult getting "downsized" last year and I'm also curious how it is going to go down this year. For the other people who is putting down the OP, don't talk about another until you've walked in his shoes. Just wait....you WILL see how it feels to get laid off......

You sound like a very bitter person. No, I don't sell band-aids and soap. I have a real device job. As far as entertainment.....I'm not entertained by people that lose their jobs. I'm more entertained by assholes like you that post comments about managers, co-workers, the CEO and cry to everyone. You should have gotten out of the business before you lost your job.

To all of you that were let go....my sincerest thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm not gloating. Many good reps were let go. The good ones will find better jobs. Assholes on here that go bashing other people's thoughts and so on...will wallow in pity and blame everything on everyone else.

And yes, I did know someone. That is how I got my device job. Perhaps if you weren't such a patheic jerk someone may have taken you under their wing and hooked you up.

I was lucky! I proved myself and have also been promoted all in less than two years. You my friend are going to have a long ass search trying to find something decent.

To the good people, put cafepharma to some good use. Go to EVERY company on the device board and send out your resume's. Someone is bound to get a hit. It's like cold calling. THe more hitrs the better the chance of getting an opportunity.

You're thick, please tell me which device company you work for, I'll stay away from it. I didn't say you didn't know anyone in the device industry, I said you don't have a buddy here. So go back to selling your band Aids and hand soap ( and call it devices). Dumbass, LOL.
