You're lucky Otsuka did what they could to keep all of us (including you) safe while maintaining your paycheck and full bonus. Yes, it was a difficult year but territories were unevenly affected. How can you award a winner when another territory may have been completely shut down. Offices were not letting reps in, counties were ordering shelter in place...
You, my entitled friend, may be better served working in the restaurant business or retail. It will here where you will experience the full impact of a pandemic. In the meantime, get back to working your phone for an hour, collecting your overpaid compensation, and just be happy you're going on a trip at all. The company did not have to do any of this. I don't think it seems fair to award a lavish trip to one person while others can barely get past the front switchboard on the phone, much less talk to a real HCP. In light of this, I like the gesture and pat on the back for those who did well without discouraging those who could not overcome a higher hurdle due to local government restrictions that the trip winners may not have faced. Maybe they did. Good for them.
Now next year, when everything is relatively normal and all territories have an even chance for success, you'll see the trip resume to Otsuka standards at Maui. Do I really have to explain this to you?

I was just thinking the same thing. This person is also disappointed that there will be nobody above and beyond his/her immediate reporting so they won't be able to kiss ass. This confirms the audacity and utter waste of a paycheck this idiot pretends to earn. How about working for a company that eliminated their bonuses or reduced them. There are other companies that downsized, and others that are still in lock-down.
