Extended 8 day NSM; exact dates TBA soon! The purpose will be to celebrate two great careers that are winding down. GS and MB. Two wonderful leaders.
Significant Others will be invited. Most likely a Monday thru Saturday meeting. Arrive on Sunday, depart on the following Sunday. Saturday will be an AM community volunteer event, and then Saturday evening will be a black-tie affair. Sunday departures anytime, morning or night.

GS and MB built this company! Let's honor them on their way out. I, for one, cannot wait for this marvelous celebration!

What a bunch of crap. No way Cubist would make their reps leave home for a week. 5 days is bad enough. We have families! YOu are full of it. Who cares about retirement. Stop posting lies on this board.

I heard the same thing today. But I'm being told the Saturday event is optional.
 




































Trust me when I say that even cubist isn't stupid enough to make a weekend meeting mandatory. Half the sales force has their foot out the door they are so unhappy...no way would they pull a stunt like this for a stupid retirement that no one cares about. Surely cubist would want us out in the field selling the new gram negative? Not attending a ridiculous black tie event after a weeklong meeting. There would surely be a revolt against this!

You're correct. Saturday night is completely optional. Cubist has once again decided to combine end of year parties with a NSM function. You can decide to skip the Saturday night event, but it may be a career limiting decision. Your call.

one thing I've lerned in over 20 years of pharma experience is that we all worry about this shit and in the end, no one give a fuck if you go or not!! Do what's right for your family and don't sweat these bullshit corporate events!! Don't let your RBD's pressure you!! They have to lick corp balls; we don't...
 






Agreed. While it certainly is good news that GS is retiring, why spend company $$$$ on celebrating that? Why can't he just go off with dignity...into the sunset. The stock is at an all time low, do we really need a black tie affair? With additional nights in a hotel? I would rather have my bonus!

Stock is at an all time low???? What kind of Fuk-tard are you? In Feb 2009 the stock was at $14. In April 2005 the stock was at $9. In Sep 2002 the stock was at 5. Really -- if you're that stu-pid how have you made it in pharma? Those stock prices took me 30 seconds to find on Yahoo. Pull your head out of your a-zz and you may be amazed at what you can find.

This is absolutely what we do at Merck. The role playing is on par with primary care. Honestly, we heard training say "video role play" might be an option for future "certifications"...so sorry for you folks. I was hoping to leave Merck for Cubist in the future. This has been the worst year of my 12 year career in pharma.
