2 Weeks Notice

If one is on a contract and decides to leave and gives 2 weeks notice, what happens? Is it true that they immediately take the car and not pay the 2 weeks? Essentially making the day you give notice, your last day. I have heard this is what happens at Quintiles and wanted to know if InVentiv is the same. Thanks.
 












They will pay you for the two weeks plus any vacation time. You keep car until last day. You can't drive it after midnight on last day of employment but they may not pick it up right away.

The vacation payout is the only one in my career where they only pay 30% of vacation when you leave.

Yes, they can keep you from driving the car. You are no longer an authorized driver and not insured after your employment ends. If you were to be in an accident it would be on you. Your personal auto insurance might cover it, but probably not since you would be an unauthorized driver. Not worth the risk.

As for the vacation payout policy, it's horrible. And that applies even if the contract ends suddenly. Unless you're in a state where full payout is required.

Challenge it, wherever you are. This is illegal. It was offered as so many DAYS PAID time off. You accrued it. It's yours.

Question for clarification of comment regarding complete payout for contract even if terminated early..Thought CSO contract could be canceled early by client, only extra cost might be early cancellation fee if in contract from the client to CSO? The other part, are there States where the contract is to be paid through term even if ended by client or CSO? If so, which States?

So I'm not sure what you would mean by contract ended early... I imagine if you had something in writing that said contract is to end on mm/dd/yy. You could have a reasonable complaint....

I have been on four different contracts. The Offer of Employment never states when a contract is scheduled to end, and always says that employment is At Will.

You can complain all you want. But contracts end early all the time. I was hired on a 3 year contract, and it ended in 3 months. We got nothing. We were all seasoned sales reps and all of a sudden unemployed. We all took contract thinking it would be less stressful than the manufacturer. Not true. Big mistake.

I just read over my new hire info from 5 months ago and it says unused accrued vacation time pays out at 30%. If you're fortunate to leave this subpar imitation of pharma sales -yes even with one of the top contracts -use your earned time and celebrate not being treated like you're on a work release program. My fingers are crossed!
 




someone at Inventive needs to let the top managers know that they need to seek out the new contract with Pfizer. Pfizer is putting it out to bid and it would be best for us reps seeking jobs if we could work the contract through Inventive. Heard that Oncall is bidding on it but I worked for them before and they are an awful CSO. Spread the word to get Inventive marketing group to grab the Pfizer contract before they seal it up at Oncall. Inventive will do a much better job with managing the contract. Maybe they could hold on to it longer than 9 months like Oncall did with their last Pfizer attempt. They sucked pretty bad. Surprised Pfizer would even let them bid on it unless it is just some type of pity invite.
