2 Weeks Notice

When giving 2 weeks notice, does Teva let you go and pay the two weeks out? I know one representative that was paid out for the two weeks when he gave notice. Others have told me that this is not a common practice. This post is not about bashing Teva. This company has exceptional Sales Representatives!

I was not paid for my 2 weeks and was not surprised given how cheap Teva is. I was just relieved I got a job paying some real money. Also to receive bonus you need to be employed the day bonus is paid out.

The poster is correct about needing to be employed at the time of bonus payout, but not about two week notice pay. If you give two weeks of notice and you are an employee in good standing (no PIP, no reprimands, etc...) you will be paid out. You will also be paid for any vacation that you have not taken for that year. If your employment is terminated you will receive pay up until your last day of employment and any vacation left, but no bonus.

This may be your experience but I have personally seen the "2 week notice" not honored here in Respiratory. Just over a year ago, a close friend on the West coast, gave his notice two weeks before the end of the year as he had secured a new job. He timed it so that he could spend time with his family over the holidays (if they chose to close him out), get his quarterly bonus, and start his new job in January. He was in good standing, and performing well, yet he was immediately let go. He was also denied his quarterly bonus as HR started that he did not finish out the quarter. This may be a "state by state" issue as some require that an employer honor the two week notice if they choose to sever the employee. If you plan to give your "two week notice", I highly recommend that you check with your state employment office to clarify this before doing anything.
