DEAR LOYAL EMPLOYEES
MERRY XMAS
XOXO
NVS

Novartis has given notice to 183 workers that their jobs will be eliminated effective tomorrow, according to documents filed with the state Department of Labor.

The job cuts are part of the pharmaceutical company’s effort to reorganize its clinical development division, which was originally announced in October.

The Swiss company, which has its U.S. headquarters in East Hanover, will transfer its clinical development work — part of the process of making new medicines — to external sources, according to the documents. In New Jersey, 38 positions are expected to be cut.

Under federal law, employers are required to provide workers with 60-days notice if they are impacted by a plant closing or mass layoff. According to the documents filed with labor officials, the postiions impacted by the reorganization at Novartis include field monitors and clinical research associates.

All the CRAs, aka monitors, will be offered jobs through a third party vendor. They will get severance and stay employed....good deal!!!!! The only negative is the vendor's health insurance sucks, and will cost them about 120 bucks more a month.

Good stuff; this was the biggest coffee klatch of women that were a poor excuse for Novartis employees; they actually slowed down getting trials run because they thought they were in charge of the trials
